A tight end lines up within the two yard zone at the end of the offensive line. The tight end normally is comparable in size to an offensive lineman but is an eligible pass receiver. In contrast, a wide receiver can be a split end or a wing back (depending on if he lines down on the line of scrimmage or not. A wide receiver is normally tall and skinny in comparison to an offensive lineman and is normally very fast.

Pretty much nothing. Many years ago football offenses would only have two wide receivers. One was called the split end and the other was called the flanker. Basically, the only difference was that the split end would line up on the line of scrimmage and the flanker would line up a yard behind the line of scrimmage. Other than that, there was no difference.

What is a WE in football?

I'm not familiar with the term WE. There is a split end (SE) and the more generic term wide receiver (WR), so perhaps WE is simply a mistaken combination of the two.As for a split end, that is a wide receiver who lines up on the line of scrimmage (as opposed to a flanker, who lines up behind the line).

What does the front line do in football?

They are called the "offensive line" and "defensive line". The offensive line is responsible for helping protect the quarterback and prevent defenders from tackling the the running back on running plays. The defensive line is responsible first for maintaining a gap in the offensive line. From there, they either rush the passer or try to defeat a block or blocks by the offensive line, either so they can make the tackle or so one of their teammates can make a tackle.
