Being an owner of both I can only speak for myself but the pro preferred has a much better leather and breaks in better and faster. I see no drawbacks besides the price. Well worth the money you spend on a glove that lasts as long as mine have and will.
P.S. I have upgraded to a Rawlings Primo and love everything about it!
