I have an 1980 Yamaha Enticer 250 (ET250D). Here's what the sticker under the hoods says...
The oil capacity for the "Chain Case" is 15.21 oz (or 450 cc).
If you are talking about the engine crankcase, there is no oil in the crankcase of a two-stroke engine. It is lubricated by the oil that is mixed into the gas.
I am not sure what weight oil to use. The dealer told me to use Yamaha Chain Case Oil (but he didn't know the weight of the oil).
Hope this helps!

That is a two cycle engine and should not have a crankcase oil capacity!
It should be oil injected with a reservoir jug under the hood, with should have a level line on it.
its on the tunnel of the snowmobile , proble starts with 8c0 or something like that
1984
enticer liquid cooled no such thing you prolly mean exciter11 and its 93
A stock 1980 ET 250 has 23 horsepower.
The crankcase capacity of the 1987 Yamaha 350 is 2.5 quarts. 2.0 quarts will go into the crankcase and .05 quarts will go into the oil filter.
600cc
The engine that comes standard with every Enticer 340 is a two-stroke, fan-cooled twin engine designed for this snowmobile. It reaches a maximum horsepower of 32 at 6,500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 25 foot-pounds at 6,000 rpm. With an engine size of 440-cubic centimeters, the Enticer can reach a maximum speed of 55 mph on the snow.
If you are talking about the 1980 Yamaha Enticer, the top speed would be 55mph.
According to the owners manual, 1.9quarts.
The engine backfiring at idle, and at slightly off idle speeds is indicative of a lean fuel/air mixture. Try enriching your fuel mixture.
The ec540d was made in 1979 & 1980 only. There is no 1995 model. Do you mean the XVL model XL540 that started in 1985 as XL549J? Every year the last letter went up, such as 1986 XL540K, 1986 XL540L and so on.
the vin on a Yamaha snowmobile is usually found on the right side where your foot is placed.
