Why do basketballers wear sleeves?

Basketball players wear sleeves on the arm they shoot with so it stays warm. In addition it is an extension of the wrist sweat bands from the old days, keeping the sweat from running down their arm and onto their shooting hand. Keeping their shooting hand dry is important for feel on the ball when passing, dribbling and shooting.

It's a orange ball that you use when you play the sport basketball, it is usually made of rubber or leather and you use it by dribbling (bouncing the ball from your hand to the floor and back to your hand) or shooting the ball into the hoop (a tall pole with a metal loop with a net attached to it).

How to Shoot a Basketball - Drills?

How to Shoot a Basketball - DrillsTo become better at shooting a basketball, you can practice several drills that will improve your form. A multicolored ball is the best way to visualize if your form and ball rotation are correct. The first few drills don't require a court or net. They can be done at home.Lay on your back with the ball in your shooting hand. Your elbow and wrist should be at ninety degrees angles. Straighten your arm and wrist as you drive the ball upwards. Your wrist should end up ninety degrees forward to get the correct rotation on the ball. If your hands are small or the ball is heavy, use your non-shooting hand as a guide. Don't use the fingers; just rest the ball against the palm. For the next drill, sit in a chair and again drive the ball straight up.The next drill requires a basketball net. Stand close to and centered on the basket, keep your elbow in close to your body while maintaining the correct ninety degree angles with your hand and elbow. Drive the ball straight toward the basket. Watch the rotation and angle of the ball. Again, the ball should appear as one color. If the ball goes to one side or the other, correct your form. After making five baskets in a row, move back and continue.

I am a basketball player who is looking for a drill. I am a 7th grader that is a 3 point shooter. I need a drill to better my left hand and finish better around the rim. Can anything help?

I would say to just practice. I would look at how you shoot with your right hand and compare this to how you are shooting with your left hand. (I do play basketball, but I don't know any drills).

Shooting a basketball?

I assume by this you mean : How do you shoot a basketball? If so, there is a technique that is used to get the best shot. First off, you need to have your dominant hand under the basketball, elbow in an L position, wrist bent so that the ball is resting on your hand. Make sure you have a little bit of space between your palm and the ball, but your fingertips should be handling it. Next, take your other hand and put a "bookend" on the basketball. This hand should just be a guide when you're shooting; it shouldn't contribute to the power of the shot. For the release, you need to push up and slightly out, and your wrist should flip over at the end, so that your index and middle finger look like they're in the basket. I hope this helps, but it would probably be better with a demonstration. I recommend getting one of your friends or a coach/trainer to show you how.
