This is quite hard to answer since the question is quite unspecifik. Northeast what? And best is of course a matter of taste.
I'll go for the northeast of the largest skiing countries:
France: Well the most famous resort are all more like east than northeast but I recommend the northeastest of the big ones, Les Portes Du Soleil, where you preferentially stay in Avoriaz. Of the truly northeast ski resorts is La Bresse Hohneck the lasrgest one.
Italy: Northeast means the Dolomites. I'd say stay somewhere in the Sella Ronda part of Dolomiti Superski e.g. Canazei, Campitello or Selva Gardena.
Switzerland: Samnaun, part of the Silvretta Arena which includes Ischgl is as northeast you can come.
Austria: the northeast is actually the only part of Austria that is not covered by the alps so I´d aim for another part of Austria. However, if you mean the northeast of the alpes there are a lot of great sking in the Salzburg area like Gasteinertal, Saalbach and Salzburger Sportwelt Amadé. SkiWelt and Kitzbühel is also worth mentioning.
