The answer which comes immediately to mind is Georgia Tech. Renowned engineering school, and a perennial power in College Baseball.
I'm not too familiar with the top engineering schools nationwide, but if it'd be a simple matter for you to compile that list, then you could simply compare it against the steady college Baseball contenders - Texas, LSU, Miami, Stanford, etc.
As a devoted fan, now, I do need to add - If you're a first-round pick out of high school who actually plans to attend college, definitely c'mon down to Miami! Just check out Ryan Braun's college and MLB careers for a recent template - If there's a single human being anywhere who had more fun in college (both on and off the field) (and who's having more fun up in the Show), I don't know who it could be. I'm sure Miami's engineering school is fine!

The school baseball team is the high level competitive team; there are generally try-outs and limited positions on the team. The club baseball team is for everyone else - there is less competition and in general there are unlimited positions on the team.

it depends on what sport. hockey is more expensive on a school team. Baseball and football are about the same for a school team and on a rec. league team.
