The closest thing we have to a firing weapon in my organization is the wind staff. I like it because it can go from 8' to 24' in a second.
You simply drop the magazine, then you pull back on the slide to extract the round.
Provided that the magazine is inserted in the weapon during firing, the slide remains locked to the rear.
The Sten was a blowback-operated submachine gun firing from an open bolt with a fixed firing pin on the face of the bolt. This means the bolt remains to the rear when the weapon is cocked, and on pulling the trigger the bolt flies forward under spring pressure, stripping the round from the magazine, chambering it and firing the weapon all in the same movement. However, the current day semi auto version of the Sten has a different operating system, and does use a movable firing pin.
To cock an AK47 means to pull the handle back which sets the firing pin, so that when you pull the trigger the firing pin goes forward and detonates the primer thus firing a shot. The AK47 being a semiautomatic weapon ejects the fired (spent) shell, as the slide goes back to eject the shell sets the firing pin for the next round.
basically like a normal machine gun its just smaller for better maneuverability. A submachine gun works by cycling the bolt carrier rearwards to cock the weapon. When the bolt carrier is released by depressing the trigger, it moves forward chambering a round, locking the bolt and then firing. The recoil from the round unlocks the bolt and pushes the bolt carrier rearwards again which strips the round from the chamber and ejects it from the weapon.
Yes.
This one needs to go to a gunsmith right away. Normally, racking the slide should cock the weapon. Likely either your firing pin is stuck (dirt, fouling, crud, rust) or the sear mechanism that holds the weapon in the cocked position is worn/ broken. Either condition COULD result in the weapon firing as soon as a round is chambered, without pulling the trigger. In some cases, it would continue to fire until empty- uncontrolled full auto fire. Gunsmith, right away.
Remove the magazine from the rifle. Draw the bolt to the rear, and lock it to the rear. Visually check the chamber to ensure there is no round of ammunition chambered, and place the weapon an SAFE. When clearing from a live firing line, a cleaning rod is usually passed thru the barrel to be certain that the weapon is truly clear.
The decocking safety lever is a feature on some firearms that allows the user to safely lower the hammer from the cocked position without firing a round. This helps prevent accidental discharges and allows for safe decocking of the weapon.
It is called a chakram
Yes.
If you push the slide away from you on a firearm, you are essentially chambering a new round from the magazine into the firing chamber. This action readies the firearm for firing by loading a new round.
