∙ 13y agoDo they train? Did they ever have athletic ability? Lets guess 10 minutes if they can run at 6 mph (10km/h) for 10 minutes. This would be tough for someone who hasn't run for 25 years.

About 20 minutes to walk a mile.

It varies for every women, in a high school career, most will achieve a best of anywhere from 42 (fastest time in HS) to 48 seconds. Again it does vary from athlete to athlete in performance.
It depends ... If you're a beginning runner, then a 12 or more minute mile is somewhat average. There are many female runners who can run a mile in less than 5 minutes. Are you running for weightloss or for a personal best? If you were to take an AVERAGE of 100 female runners of any level, it would probably be between 7.5 and 9 minutes.
5:48 is definitely above average for a mile time. An average mile time would be anywhere from 7-8 minutes.
