Bantam hockey players are usually in the age range of 13-14. Players younger than 13 can "play up", however, if the team or organization deems them to be a good enough player. A player older than 14 cannot "play down" unless they turned 15 during or after a specified point in the season.

What is the difference between peewee hockey and minor bantam hockey?

The Peewee hockey age group is typically 11-12 year olds, while Bantam would refer to the 13-14 year old age group. The major and minor involves the split in the age groups. Major Peewee would be 12 year olds. Minor Bantam would be 13 year olds. In some areas that do not have many players they combine the age groups, but in many places hockey is so popular it is necessary to have separate the age classes.
