The word your looking for is "gnar" or "gnarly". It comes from a Snowboarding video self titled as GNAR which was made by Robb Gaffney in memory of skier Shane McConkey. It stands for Gaffneys Numerical Assessment of Radness. The idea behind the video was that people were taking snowsports too seriously and so to make fun of those people, Shane McConkey, Robb Gaffney's good friend would pretend he was really obsessed with being better than everyone. He and Shane wrote a book called "squawliwood" named after his home mountain of squaw and gave certain runs and tricks a certain number of points. So a particularly difficult run would be a gnarly one.Now shredding gnarly means you did something perfectly, really cool or just plain crazy.
