It is unlikely that this will happen, but I suppose that anything is possible. The Hard Drive itself should be almost if not completely sealed. This should keep dust out of the drive it self. However, dust can cause things to overheat if it becomes thick enough. If the hard drive casing became caked with dust, I suppose the heat build up could cause a "hard stop," which takes place when it becomes to hot to prevent damage. The same thing could happen to the CPU. If the heat sync became clogged with dust, a hard kill could be triggered to keep the CPU from melting down.
