The difference between Charging and Boarding.
Charging is when a player attempts to check another player but takes to many steps before hitting them. When you check someone you are suppose to take about 3 strides and then glide to the player who you are checking.Refs call charging also if you hit with the head or if you leave your feet.
Boarding is when you check, trip, or throw another player into the boards violently.
Taking more than three strides or jumping before hitting an opponent.
the penalties in hockey are: hooking, tripping, slashing, interfearance, delay of game, charging, roughing, and i think that's all of them. Hope it helped!!

I don't think so.. If anything they could maybe reduce the time they fought so fights woudnt be too long, but fighting is one of the things lots of fans love about hockey and without it hockey wouldn't be the same
