When the blocker touches the net while blocking (called, "in the net"). Some think that a backrow player can come and block, but this NEVER happens unless you are in elementary school playing at a local facility for fun. The reff will notice this and call it, since the reff must know where the setter is at all times for both teams he knows where the players play and if they should be in backrow or not. Players will always notice it too.

A block in volleyball is when one team makes a move trying to get the ball over the net and the other team reaches up and bloacks the ball from coming onto their side. if in doing so, the ball lands back on the original team's side, it is the other teams point. it is a strategy used to gain points and keep the ball from landing on your side of the court.

Basically, you want to time your jump as the other player is hitting the ball. If timed correctly their shot will hit off your hands back over the net. You are not allowed to touch the net, though.
When the opposite team spikes a ball at you and you spike it right back in their face and then you must say take that bitch!!!!

when someone sets the ball or spikes the ball or even bumps the ball and it goes a little over the net, you are able to jump up and block it from coming over the net. you can also make a point by blocking.
