a breaking ball is simply any pitch that curves, dips, dives, moves or does anything but go in a straight line. Curveballs, sliders, sinkers, slurves, screwballs and gyroballs are all examples of breaking balls.

Note that changeups do not count as breaking balls, because their purpose is not to confuse the batter with a change in direction, but rather a change in speed.

Knuckleballs are sort of a combination of offspeed and breaking balls, and I'm not sure what an eephus pitch is.

Which pitch do you think is more effective in baseball, the slider or the breaking ball?

Both the slider and the breaking ball are effective pitches in baseball, but the effectiveness of each can vary depending on the pitcher's skill and the situation in the game. The slider is known for its sharp, late-breaking movement, making it difficult for batters to make solid contact. On the other hand, the breaking ball, which includes pitches like curveballs and knuckleballs, can also be effective in fooling batters with its unpredictable trajectory. Ultimately, the effectiveness of each pitch depends on the pitcher's ability to control and execute them effectively.

What is the best breaking pitch?

I depends on your viewpoint, but the best basic breaking pitch is the "breaking ball" or curveball, but if you're looking to go fancy you can try the pitch made famous by Daisuke Matsuzaka the gyro ball. But if that's too fancy you can try the old knuckle ball.

In twilight how come the vampires never drop anything like in breaking dawn i think its a surprise when Alice does and when they play baseball they don't have a back stop?

They didn't drop the ball because the vampires have amazing reflexes. Alice dropped the vase in breaking dawn because she had a really shocking vision. and they dont have a backstop because the vampires arent likely to miss the ball
