I was watching a press day interview with the Packers team, "What does the "G" on the Packers helmet stand for?"
The "G" actually stands for Greatness. Apparently, equipment manager George "Dad" Brashier thought up and designed the logo in 1961.
And greatness is what legendary Coach Vince Lombardi brought to the Green Bay Packers. Lombardi coached the Pack to NFL championships in '61, '62 and '65, as well as victories in the first two Super Bowls.
Of course, the Packers also won NFL titles in 1929, 1930, 1931, 1936, 1939 and 1944. And Super Bowl XXXI in 1996. In case you're counting, that equals 12 championships.
If you are referring to the Green Bay Packers helmet, then it stands for Green Bay.
Green Bay smarts.

The Green Bay Packers are from Wisconsin. It's north of Illinois and east of Minnesota.
I've heard two things, that it stands for Green Bay or for greatness.
"Greatness"
There are two meanings for the "G" on the helmet, Green Bay, but most importantly...... Greatness!
Green Bay has an amusement park called Bay Beach on the east side of town.
