Before you go out into the open on your 4 legged friend you need to be able to:

Control your horse (now how to ride and have a horse suitable to your ability)

make sure you are confident as so is your horse (you don't want him bolting off)

And use first aid kit if necessary

And also know all the things that you want your horse to do (make sure you know how to gallop and jump before you attempt)

Would an uncontolled horse be the correct mountfor an unexperienced rider?

defonetaly NOT. if the inexpierianced rider knew someone expierianced then they could ask them to bring the horse on a bit and then they could ride it. or you could go to riding lessons and improve your riding and then you will be able to get any horse you want! sorry for any spelling mistakes.

What kind of horse should I get if it's my first horse and I'm an advanced and able rider?

Being a good rider does not determine what kind of horse to get, owning a horse and riding a horse are two very different things. You need to be able to control the horse from the ground as well as from the saddle. Do your research, and get to know the horse you want to buy before taking him home.

A 1,025 pound horse should be able to carry a 268 pound person with little problem.

Who should ride the horse?

Anybody is able to ride a horse but that does not necessarily mean they should. Some people are too scared of riding to ride well without scaring the horse also and making it buck, bolt, rear or just not do as the rider wants them to. Rearing is dangerous as the horse can fall on top of you, and if you are riding western and that happens you can be killed. Some people are not good enough at riding to ride all horses as more difficult horses will take advantage of beginners and rear, buck, bolt or just not do as the rider wants.

What does bending mean in horse riding?

Bending is the flexing of the horse around a certain point. That point can be the rider's leg, poles as in the sport of pole bending, barrels for barrel racing, ect. The point being, the horse's back and neck should be limber enough to be able to bend comfortably and is essential to higher levels of riding. I use flexing as a warmup and cooldown and it will reduce the chance of injury in the same way runners stretch before a marathon.

What is a horse rider?

Well, a simple answer is, "A person who sits on a horse and rides it"But a detailed answer is this:(When I say it, I mean He/She)A true horse rider has a good relationship with the horses it rides. It might not necessarily have a horse of its own, but it must understand the horse nature. It should know what the horse is feeling, and how to treat it well, when to praise the horse, or when to scold the horse. It must be able to ride all sorts of horses. Or perhaps, it just rides horse because it is simply their pleasure.

What do you call a person who is employed to look after horses?

A female horse is mare, a male still able to breed is a stallion and a gelded male horse is called a gelding. A horse that has been trained is called a backed or broken horse but backed is a nicer term.

Does the horse rider with the highest gait have the right of way at riding schools?

No! You ride left hand to left hand so if you are riding on an anti clockwise circle you will be on the inside track and vice versa. You need to ride collected, not fast, when you canter in a school and you need to be aware of where everyone else is - they will not be able to move out of your way fast enough if you are at the canter!

When is a horse to young to be riding?

A horse is to young 2 and younger... at around age 3 you can begin light ridding... or breaking them out... Andy time sooner then 2 and you risk hurting the horse... and it's future health.. There still growing and the stress from having a rider on them can affect how there legs grow, and there back... After two bones start to fuse... i recommend waiting till the horse is at least 3 till you are able to ride.
