The Goal Defence (GD) in netball is on the Goal Attack (GA). The GD position is to defend the ball and try to get as many turnovers as possible and defend the GA when she has a shot a goal.
GD can go in the centre third and the defending third and in the opponents semi circle

there is no WH in netball; the positions are: GS-Goal Shooter GA-Goal Attack WA-Wing Attack C-Centre WD-Wing Defence GD-Gold Defence GK-Goal Keeper

It stands for WING DEFENSE. Next to the WA of the opposition facing their goal on the line nearest GK in line with GD of their own team.
