at first you pretty much stand there and wait for people to throw the ball to you. at second you have to field the ball and cover your base short stop is the hardest cause you have to field and cover tird and second base. outfield you just pretty get the ball when it goes out there in any position and third you play up on a bunt and field and pitcher you pitch and catching is difficult you have to know everything that's going on in the game at all times!
There are 9 positions on a softball field.
9-10 positions
they are in the infield and in the outfield
As a softball player myself, my friend plays first. But, leftys can really play any position. first is most common.
positions
A player who is not a starter that can play several different defensive positions.
Second, Short and First
Offense in softball is when you're hitting the ball (because you are scoring). There aren't necessarily positions, but there are names to refer to where you are in the lineup. On defense there are pitchers, catchers, first basemen, second basemen, shortstops, third basemen, left fielders, center fielders, and right fielders.
Basic positions are: pitcher, catcher, firstbase man, secondbase man, thirdbase man, shortstop, right field, left field, center field
The fundamentals are catching, throwing, hitting, and baserunning. I would also consider playing position as a fundamental in softball because there is a proper way of executing the playing positions on the field.
There are some old movies about softball and baseball but you just have to look for them
Aside from the basic "softball is for girls," not really. This is mainly due to the fact that baseball overshadows softball since it came before softball.
