In what the British call football and the Americans call soccer, the first goal nets were used at a match in Nottingham, England, in 1891. (See And Not Many People Know This, Either! by Michael Caine).

If you need a Judge just call a officer. In every football match you will need a judge.

You call it football because you play with ball and kick the ball
Bit of a stupid question. People either say soccer because they are speaking to an audience of more than just Britain so as to make it perfectly clear what they are talking about, or if they are American it doesn't matter if it is a British club they already have a sport called football, they call it soccer. A term given to the sport by a British person, it's a nickname for Association Football. Not everyone is required to talk like you, chill out.
