not all are. if you want to do dirt jumping i recommend you do not use a normal mountain bike. get a proper dirt jump bike. i used a felt q520 xc bike to dirt jump and the forks broke and i took it in and the mechanic said i had damaged the frame and it was close to snapping.
Marzocchi bomber forks are used as a dirt jump shock but i ride DH on my dirt jump bike with those shock and can manage.
you will crash and heart your self and demige your bike
Not as scary as landing on your face.
Homies is it easier to jump a dirt bike or four wheeler I was thinking four wheeler because of the weight but any help would be good thanks
I believe the first to land it was Evil Knevil.
There's no telling. The BMX is probably smaller, so it should be lighter. OTOH they're often amazingly chunkily built and can be surprisingly heavy.
The difference is that the mountain bike tube is much burlier and wider than the dirt jump tube but may not be as strong in terms of hard hitting strength.

you should have a race bike to jump high. to jump correctly you have to be in the attack position before you jump. the attack position is where you stand up on the bike, knees slightly bent, standing with your butt twards the back of the bike, elbows bent and looking always in front of you. never at the ground. when you are coming twards the jump give it a handful of gas ( still in the attack position until you land) when your in the air grip the bike with your knees to avoid wiping out. when you land make sure your standing and land with a bit of gas to even the bike out.
