Blake left us in 1994 at the age of 92.Blake was called a Legendary Surfer of the 19th Century. Tom Blake virtually began the surfing lifestyle as we still know it today.While living in Santa Monica,Ca. Blake worked as a lifeguard ,swimming instructor,even as a stunt double. Blake also set a number of world open water swimming records.In 1926 Tom started building his own surfboards, and was the first to ever to patent and manufacture the first production surfboard.Blake was the inventor of the first hollow surfboard.Then Tom Blake would change the world of surfing for ever by inventing the surfboard,Fin A.K.A.
