The Day is Jackie Robinson Day. It's April 15 every year. It was first started April 15,2004.Its been going on ever since. This is a tribute to Jackie Robinson .This is special because of the many things he did in his time such as opening the gate for blacks to play sports and his number is retired from the whole league so it is a great way to remember him.

Before shoes with cleats were popular, players wore some type of non-cleat running shoes. Some present-day players do not use cleats at all.
sunglasses are used during day games. Baseball players used to wear flips and knock them down only when a fly ball was hit into the sun. Now players just wear the sunglasses throughout the day game.

Aproximately 1500 players are drafted each year into the minor leagues. With the average career length of a MLB player being about 5.6 years, it should take about 5.6 years worth of drafts to fill every team. Since MLB careers can last from a single day to over 20 years, you can see that the one day is much much more common. The amount of players that play for a team even a single day each year varies wildly. But I think going by the 40 man roster size is a good average esitmate and ends up at about a 14.3% chance of a player from single-A making a MLB roster at some point. To make a regular 25 man spot on a roster is a bit less at about 8.9%.
