The Day is Jackie Robinson Day. It's April 15 every year. It was first started April 15,2004.Its been going on ever since. This is a tribute to Jackie Robinson .This is special because of the many things he did in his time such as opening the gate for blacks to play sports and his number is retired from the whole league so it is a great way to remember him.

MLB players typically receive their paychecks twice a month during the regular season, usually on the 15th and last day of the month.
28% of MLB Players are foreign born.
Jackie Robinson did not retire his jersey number; instead, Major League Baseball universally retired his number 42 in 1997 to honor his contributions to the sport and civil rights. This means that no player in MLB can wear the number 42, ensuring Robinson's legacy is remembered. Each year, on April 15th, MLB celebrates Jackie Robinson Day, where players and coaches wear the number 42 in tribute.
