I think many people want turkey to host the olympics as it is a country that can provide a bridge between the western and arab world. Turkey, a country in which Islam is the dominant relgion, would be the first muslim country to ever host the olympics, a significant moment in history. Turkey itself wants to use the olympics to showcase that an islam country can be succesful. Turkey should also host the olympics because it will allow the games to be branched out to different areas in the world, and not for the games to be traded amoung the dominant powers, for example, the IOC have told the USA they will not be getting the games in a long time. (2012 will be Londons 3rd games, Paris have said they will bid until they get the games, ) So with turkey hosting it will allow for new areas of the world to host
