Raymond Ewry was an American from Lafeyette, Indiana. He was born in 1873 and passed away in 1937. He had polio at age 10 and conquered the paralysis and went on to Purdue University in 1890. He joined the trck and field team and took the University to an N.C.A.A. championship.
Later, starting in 1900, he went on to win 10 Olympic gold medals in the standing jumping events up through the London, 1908 Games.
I am his proud grandson and am publishing a book on his life.
