I dont know if you are talking about Division 1 A only, or AA. 1A Rice, Wake Forrest, Tulsa, Marshall, there all small for 1 A. Division 1 AA Def Davidson they only have I think 1,700 students. Then Wofford is pretty small. Most of your smaller schools will be in the conference U.S.A, and the Big East, and MAC. The huge schools are the big Ten, not including North Western they are super small I know they are under 10,000 students. SEC is big, most of the Florida schools are really big Florida Atlantic, Gators, even UCF is probably pushing close to 30,000 kids, South Florida is pretty big. Anyways I hope this helped a little.

How many ncaa football teams are there really because they say there are 119 ncaa football division 1-a teams but there are 61-65 division 1-a games every week according to all major sports networks?

In the 2009 season, there are 120 Division 1-A football schools, 117 Division 1-AA football schools, and 150 Division II football schools. There are more than 60 "1-A" games a week because not all of the games pit two 1-A schools against each other. As an example, the start of the 2009 season saw the University of Virginia, a 1-A football school, play William and Mary, a 1-AA football school. Temple, a 1-A football school, played Villanova, a 1-AA football school. Duke, a 1-A football school, played University of Richmond, a 1-AA football school.

How many NCAA 1 AA schools with Cross Country?

NCAA division 1 AA (or FCS) is a designation given only to college football programs. The vast majority, if not all, of the schools with football teams that play in division 1 AA have athletic teams that compete in Division 1 for other sports. Because cross country is a mainstream sport at the high school and college level, it seems fair to assume that almost all of these schools have cross country programs.
