The rules for a UFC fight are the same irrespective of whether a title is on the line or not. The only difference is the no. of rounds. Non title bouts are 3 rounds of 5 minutes each while Title bouts are 5 rounds of 5 minutes each. Fighters cannot indulge in illegal moves like eye gouging, low blows, hits to the back of the head etc. They can utilize a combination of boxing, grappling, kicking, submission moves etc during the fight. Judges will score the bout with the winner of the round getting 10 points and the other fighter 9 points or less. If the match does not end in a decision, the judges scores will be added up to decide the winner.
