What are the benefits of London hosting the Olympics?

It's a history type of thing, and London's is meant to be one of the best capitals in the world, London has 1 Canada Square building, and London has the busiest airport in the world; Heathrow. This makes it great for us Londoners, because it's cool to know that we're good enough to host the Olympics. x

We need to have world sporting events because the people that will be watching the Olympics will be their to be entertained and the athletes that will take part in the Olympics would want to win medals. The east side of London is where the stadium will be built and it is also where it's rundown. This will be a good opportunity to clear that side of London, as it needs repairing. Also, it encourages young people to get involved in the Olympics, since youngsters are attracted to computers, games, TV etc and they don't get enough exercise, therefore the Olympics will get them to be more healthy and fit.
