For 1st and 2nd graders you'd get a 1000s of ideas but in 3rd I made a magnetic experiment using a magnet (you can get 3 of them of different kinds to show how the different types oaf magnets), a nail, a plastic toy and other things to show which is attracted by magnet and which isn't. You can even show that the south and the north pole attracts each other and vice-versa. But the like poles do not. Got an A+.
Then in 7th I made a water cycle using cardboard. small glass tub and bottle to make rain.
