Something like "How fast can you run 3 miles", "How long have you been training", "What is your goal to reach during the cross country season", or "Who would you say your biggest competition is against"
You could ask them things like how is your team doing. How do suspect you'll do overall this season. Why you run cross country (how you started running) Your future running goals (like run a marathon). Things like that. Don't be to personal but get some info that will make a good newspaper segement
