Freestyle skiing equipment is very similar to alpine equipment. Some freestyle skiers prefer to have ski jackets and other pieces of clothing looser than normal, this restricts there movements less, as there having to bend and flip around. Skis for freestyle skiers are also different, they have twin tip skis that allow them to ski backwards or land backwards after jumps, they are also shorter than what the normal alpine skis should be for your height.

Nope it is the ability of the skier. Not the skis. But fiberglass skis are probably lighter. But i dont think they would preform as good as skis with a normal base.

If a pair of skis has twin tips, than it will almost always be good for powder. On the rossignol website there is a little meter for each ski that tells you some of the specs of the ski and what kind of conditions that ski is then made for.

When you store downhill skis over a long period you should put a storage wax on. This is a special wax designed to keep the bases from drying out and cracking. A good place to store your skis would be a place that is cool and has a medium humidity. Too dry will dry out your skis. Dark is also good as bright sunlight can damage the graphics and will make the temperature rise and fall which will also damage your skis.

a good general rule is to get skis that are about the same height as you are. The shorter they are, the more control you will have; the longer, the faster they are. If you are a beginner, go with some skis that are shorter than you. Note: this is assuming you are skiing shaped or parabolic skis (any new skis will be this type)
