DefinitionGaucher disease is a rare genetic disorder in which a person lacks an enzyme called glucocerebrosidase.Alternative NamesGlucocerebrosidase deficiency; Glucosylceramidase deficiencyCauses, incidence, and risk factorsGaucher disease affects an estimated 1 in 50,000 to 1 in 100,000 people in the general population. Persons of Eastern and Central European (Ashkenazi) Jewish heritage are at highest risk for the disease.It is an autosomal recessive disease. This means that the mother and father must both pass one abnormal copy of the gene to the child in order for the child to develop the disease. A parent who silently carries an abnormal copy of the gene is called a carrier.The lack of the glucocerebrosidase enzyme causes harmful substances to build up in the liver, spleen, bones, and bone marrow. The substances prevent cells and organs from working properly.There are three main subtypes of Gaucher disease:Type 1 disease is most common. It involves bone disease, anemia, an enlarged spleen and thrombocytopenia. Type I affects both children and adults. It is most common in the Ashkenazi Jewish population.Type 2 disease usually begins in infancy with severe neurologic involvement. This form can lead to rapid, early death.Type 3 disease may cause liver, spleen, and brain problems. What is castle infinity?
Castle Infinity is a freeware MMOG developed by Castle Infinity, Inc., an American non-profit organization. It works on almost any Microsoft Windows-based computer. It also runs on Macintosh under Virtual PC, and Linux under Wine. Castle Infinity was first released in 1996, making it the first fully released MMOG designed for children. It was originally designed by Russell Ginns and developed by Starwave, but the company was bought three times and eventually acquired by Disney. The game itself changed owners several times, from Digital Evolution to US Interactive. Soon after, the game servers were rescued from a dumpster by Kevin Quitt, a C programmer, who happened to be one of the game's lead players, and improvements on the game started up. From this group, Castle Infinity, Inc. a non-profit organization was born. Player population has dwindled in the years since, leaving only a few die-hard fans. The monsters became jealous of this, and they decided to wipe out the dinosaurs. They diverted a comet from its orbit around the Sun and sent it crashing toward the Earth to crush the dinosaurs. When dinosaurs saw it coming, they knew that doom was upon them. In a last ditch effort to survive, they built Castle Infinity. It was a place where they would be safe from the cataclysm. Of course, the comet that came to smash the dinosaurs, nearly wiped out the monsters, too. (A big part of being a monster is that you don't think about the consequences of your actions.) At the last minute, just before the dinosaurs sealed the gates to Castle Infinity, a few monsters got in. And monsters are like a little bit of mould that gets between tiles in your bathroom.
