YES. The white space capsule used to occupy the area just behind the center field wall... I was able to see it up close in the late 70's when my dad and I went "backstage" for a meet-n-greet with some of the Angels players (Ron Jackson was related to one of my dad's friends). I've no idea what was inside because I was too small and it was very dark at that hour to see anything inside, but I have a feeling it was a boilerplate capsule not meant for spaceflight. The capsule was likely removed during the re-construction of the Baseball stadium to accommodate the Rams and football games in 1980. If anyone has more info to correct, colloborate this info or has a URL with a photo of the capsule, please post it here.
