What was babe Ruth's favorite books and movie?

I believe there are a few book. In 1948, Pocket Books published The Babe Ruth Story by Babe Ruth, as told to veteran sportscaster Bob Considine (Pocket #562, 1948). The cover shows "The Babe" and his distinctive home-run swing. This is a wonderful autobiography of the bad kid who grew up to be one of the greatest sports heroes and then tried to help other kids in need. The Babe dedicated the book "to the Kids of America." What is babe Ruth's the babe Ruth story from 1948 worth?

This book in very good - excellent condition can be found selling on ebay in the $10.-$20. price range. Commonly found in very good condition, the average asking price of $15. still make a hard sell. A book in excellent - near mint could be an easier sale, and you might get a little more for it. I do not see a great difference in value between the 1st or 2nd edition but I'm sure the first edition would be more desired.Books like this are not sought after by literary collectors and are mostly bought by collectors of baseball memorabilia. They are typically used for display so the appearance of the cover is most important, but the demand is low.

What is the value of a Babe Ruth sighed bat?

It is very rare to come across an autographed Babe Ruth baseball bat. There are not enough signed Babe Ruth bats to give you an accurate value. It wasn't a common item to have signed in Ruth's day. Baseballs were readily available, and Ruth signed plenty. Fountain pens were used to sign most autographs, and it might have been a bad choice to sign a bat. I did find a bat that was painted silver before Babe Ruth personally inscribed and dated his Fountain pen signature on it. The bat sold for $12,969. I would think that a higher quality baseball bat would sell for $20,000. and up.You might have a Babe Ruth endorsed signature model baseball bat. This signature that appears on the bat is stamped on at the factory, and is placed on the barrel. Depending on the condition, size, make, and model it could be worth between $300. -$500. Bats with decals, and pro model bat would be worth more.

Were Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth friends?

That was the famous bear hug because Gehrig had Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which made him "unfit" to play baseball. He and Ruth had a falling out for the previous seven year because of an unintentional insult from Gehrig's mother. Gehrig was dying and the hug was a public sign of the end of the feud before Lou Gehrig passed away as not to end on bad terms.

Where did Babe Ruth collapse and pass out after an exhibition game and was rumored to be dead?

In 1925 the New York Yankees were playing an exhibition game in Ashville, North Carolina. Ruth had been hitting over .400 but was said to be feeling sick. On April 7, 1925 the Babe collapsed at the Ashville train station. The train had missed its connection and rumors spread that the Babe was dead. A London newspaper even published a detailed story on Babe's death. Ruth was revived and the train to New York made a stop in Washington DC. Ruth again collapsed in the men's room. He was found unconscious with a bad bruise from hitting his head on the sink. There is allot more to this story which I may add to the discussion page.
