Kind of, technically, he is one of the reasons why Dale Sr. wrecked and died, because he came up and touched Dale Sr. in the left rear fender causing him to wreck.

That's not true. I live in Columbia, TN and 140 feet from him, and my dad was Sterling's friend at school growing up. Besides, the real reason is that when Dale came down his left front hit the apron, and the apron is flat and when his car hit it, it lifted the left front wheel. The car came up the track and he never touched Marlin's car, there is no markings on that car today. I know, because he saved it, because he knew that people would blame it on him. The front has no markings, he never touched him. That's the truth and if you want more info about it, ask me at gpfor88@charter.net

Not a who but a what, it was the force of his car hitting the wall at over 180 mph, head on. There is no one to blame, it was just a horrible accident, a chance that all drivers take when they get behind the wheel of a race car.
