Seattle Slew was undefeated his 2yo season and in all three races of the Triple Crown. However, after the Triple Crown races he was in fact defeated in his next start, in the Swap Stakes. He finished a disappointing fourth, 16 lengths behind J.O Tobin who won by 8 lengths in 1:58 which was less than a half a second off the American record for the distance at that time. After his loss, rest and physical problems would sideline Seattle Slew for almost a year.
Seattle Slew was the 10th Triple Crown winner. He was the first horse to win the Trple Crown while undefeated. He was also the last Triple Crown winnerto die. He died in 2002.

Secretariat was born before Seattle Slew, so really, it should be said the other way around. But anyway, Secretariat and Seattle Slew were indeed related, through their sires. Seattle Slew's sire, Bold Reasoning, was the grandson of Bold Ruler, who was Secretariat's sire. They are also related through the bottom half of the pedigree, through Princequillo, who is Seattle Slew's Great-great-grandsire, and Secretariat's damsire.
