The tsars were heads of state before the Russian revolution (similar to kings). The Russian leader who became known as the Red Tsar was Joseph Stalin, who lead the Communist Soviet Union from 1927 - 1953, after he established a Dictatorship by dismantling Lenin's (his predecessor) system of government.
Lenin never overthrew the Tsar either by himself or with the Bolshevik Party. In 1917, the February Revolution occurred while Lenin was living in Switzerland. During this revolution, the Tsar abdicated the throne, so Lenin had nothing to do with the overthrow of the Tsar. After the Tsar was overthrown, a Provisional Government was set up. Lenin overthrew that government in the October Revolution, but never overthrew the Tsar himself.
Lenin ousted Alexander Kerensky, head of Russia's Provisional Government, which had replaced Tsar Nicholas II. Lenin did not overthrow the Tsar.
The cast of Tsar to Lenin - 1937 includes: Max Eastman as Narrator Alexander Kerensky as himself Tsar Nicholas II as himself Leon Trotsky as himself
Lenin's older brother Alexander was executed by the Tsarist regime for being part of a revolutionary plot against the life of Tsar Alexander III.
Vladimir IIyich Lenin ordered the murder of the Tsar Nicholas II from Moscow
If "predecessor of Lenin," is intended to mean predecessor as head of the Russian government, the answer would be Alexander Kerensky. Kerensky was the second person to head the Russian Provisional Government after Tsar Nicholas II abdicated. Tsar Nicholas II was NOT Lenin's predecessor.
Tsar Nicholas II of Russia was the last Tsar (King) of the Russian Empire he was killed in 1917 during the Russian Civil War when he was ordered killed with his family by Vladimir Lenin first leader of the USSR (soviet union)
Tsar Nicholas II Romanov was executed by Lenin's forces in 1918. The Tsar was not executed during the Russian Revolution in 1917.
The Bolsheviks believed in the tsar and they also believed in Lenin their leader
There were two basic origins. One was the execution of his older brother when Lenin was a teenager for plotting against the life of Tsar Alexander III, the father of Tsar Nicholas II. The other was the revolutionary philosophy of Karl Marx. Lenin became a dedicated Marxist.
After Lenin was returned to Russia he played a role in orchestrating the October Revolution. He returned to Russia in 1917 after the Tsar was ousted.
Lenin did not overthrow the Tsar. The Tsar was forced to abdicate because he could not stop the rioting that became known as the February Revolution. At the time Lenin was in Switzerland in self-imposed exile. He didn't even know about it until after it happened.
