No, it wasn't; Kung Fu is basically body-geometry and physics, applied in a manner to prevent harm, and cause it only if absolutely necessary. What it boils down to, is that Kung Fu is a Chess match of angles, and leverage, whoever can position themselves best, is the one who walks away in better shape, of course unlike a chess match, in an actual Kung Fu match a person does not have time to think. Across all styles, the Chinese martial arts are all obsessed with speed; even Kung Fu's "power blows," are fast. What about Tai Chi Chuan? Well, actually pushing hands competitions are SUPPOSED to be fast paced believe it or not, they are not supposed to be slow. It is very much, a martial art, and it is not unrealistic, at least not in olden times; Tai Chi practitioners, those practicing it as a martial art, were well aware that fights do not take place in slow motion, fights are fast paced and unpredictable. Ultimately I overanswered, then again I'm not an expert; there is more to Kung Fu than just angles and momentum, that is just a small part of it.
