The last English lady to win the European Table Tennis championship title was Jill Hammersley (now Mrs Jill Hammersley-Parker).
Jill won in 1976 when the tournament was held in Prague (Czechoslovakia).
Jill was also runner-up in the next European Championship in 1978, and runner-up again in 1982.
Lisa Lomas was the last English lady to reach the final (1992), losing to Bettine Vriesekoop of the Netherlands.
