No student should be able to make up their own mind what they want to wast their time on.I hated sport and wether it was compulsory or not, they could never make take part.

I am now 60 and one of the few people I know that can touch their toes without difficulty.

(whoever this is..... i love sport)

Sports should be compulsory for a couple of reasons. Firstly, more students and other people are obese and students tend to not have exercises. Having sports at school should at least lose hundred's of calories. Secondly, this helps students to study other subjects since sports keeps them healthy and active. Lastly, it slows down or stops of having other diseases such as Heart disease and Diabetes.

it depneds on the school's budget and financial status. If the school is very keen on funding sports and sports equitment to the school, then chances are they are going to have more sports. some schools however may not have the time and money to provide to schools sporting teams. however i believe that schools should have alot of sports team's for exercise and fun.

They are an important part of education. Education is not just about the mind, but also physical. Physical education is good for you. It keeps you healthy. These things can also keep you fit for other areas of your education. A fit body can also help you to have a fit mind. It also good for schools to have a wide variety of subects, not just academic ones. Sports are also good for things that academic subjects can't really teach like teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, fair play etc.

If sports weren't compulsory then children would never have a lesson to look forward to the most. Sports also keeps children who don't normally get to exercise outside of school fit.
