If you do breast exams on a monthly basis, you will begin to notice certain lumps and bumps that are normal for you. That way, if anything does become abnormal, such as a breast cyst or a tumor, you will be able to quickly recognize it and seek medical help. There's really no reason not to do them! As far as a Dr. exam, any time is a good time and then start monthly exams on your self.
