My windshield wipers will not shut off when the car is running but will turn off if I stop the car and turn off the engine. Any ideas?

wiper motor assembly. internally shorted. common problem. replacing the motor (with the control unit attached) should fix it.

The springs around the clutch plate have probably came out and locked up between the pressure plate and the clutch plate and locked them together. you need to change the clutch plate and have the pressure plate checked for damage.
