It depends on what you would define as the 'best player'.

Robin Van Persie is by far, one of the most prolific strikers in Premier League history, however, if you were to put him in Defence or as a Goalkeeper, he would be plain rubbish.

He is very well loved and he has a great reputation, however, he is very injury-prone. This means that Robin Van Persie plays barely any games and is prevented from as much football time as possible.

If we compared Robin Van Persie to Eric Cantona, Van Persie looks like Emile Heskey.

Robin Van Persie is quite young and has a lot of potential.

As an Arsenal fan, I would say that Van Persie is one of the best current strikers in the Premier League, along with Dzeko, Tevez, Rooney, Aguero, Saha, Gervinho, Drogba and Zamora.
