Not that I have been able to find, although I was able to find an old Boston Globe article published June 20, 1988 that mentions a gentleman named Ron Saloman was scheduled to work the 1988 LLWS. I have found the rosters, scores, and an overview for the 1988 LLWS and that can be accessed by clicking on the '1988 LLWS Rosters and Scores' link on this page. This data comes from the Little League website littleleague.org. You might try accessing the site and contacting them to see if they have the umpire information you are looking for. They do have a listing of umpires for the upcoming LLWS but I found nothing for 1988 umpires.
you have to be 13 and go to an umpire camp.
12 unless your local league has their own age
Out if umpire catches it.
If he can be fair and unbiased.
No, not in a High School, College, or a MLB game. In little league 1 umpire is often used.
A little league umpire can make anywhere from $30 for 9-10 year olds, to $80 for 14-15 year olds, in New York. That's pretty much the range I've heard for NY, NJ, CT, and PA. In California I make around 15-25 dollars a game. In Texas I make $35 for 9-10 year old. The pay generally increases by $5 per age level. In Illinois I make $20 a game but I am also 14. Furthermore my pay goes up $5 a year. If you are a true Little league Umpire you take no compensation for your service. Little League is a volunteer supported organization including umpires. If you ever plan on doing any Little League sanctioned post season games. (Regional or World Series) and have taken monies for umpiring you will be excluded.
I have volunteered to umpire tomorrow's Little League game.
Major League umpires chosen to work the World Series get paid a bonus of $20,000. This is on top of the $17,500 bonus they receive for working the early rounds of the playoffs.
