The Winter Olympics mostly include sports enjoyed in snow and ice or winter sports such as hockey, speed skating, snowboarding and many more. The Summer Olympic has a similar format to the Winter Olympics, but it is hosted in the summer time with mostly outdoor and indoor sports such as track & field, swimming, Basketball and many more. The Summer Olympics is generally more popular and welcomed because of the "commonness" or popularity of the sports in it.

∙ 12y agoThe summer Olympics consists of summer activities and the winter Olympics consist of winter activities that need snow. They are separated by the climate and what you need to play that sport. And they both need a climate to suit what they are doing. Some of the things that they do in the Olympics may be the same the but on ice or snow. And they may use different things to do the things that they are doing.
