Absolutely! You have 100% control over the board, and you can perform endless amounts of tricks with style & ease. Super fun! Just search YouTube for the video "Streetboarding - Enough Said!" and you will see how good they are!
You can ride snakeboards/streetboards everywhere a normal skateboard can be ridden; skateparks, vert ramps, streets, etc.
Just be sure to get yourself a good quality board with a good quality set of bindings. The moden snakeboards/streetboards look like mini-snowboards, and are made from plywood so riders can balance better on boardslides etc. The oldschool plastic boards are more unstable and wobbly and and are more dangerous.
NOTE: Be careful not to confuse snakeboards / streetboards, with ripstiks / casterboards. Ripstiks / Casterboards are ripoffs of snakeboards, and you can't do nearly as many tricks on them.

They are completely different & are basically a ripoff of the snakeboard.A snakeboard / streetboard is made up of two pivoting footplates, joined by a centre crossbar. Does the waveboard and snakeboard are same?
Absolutely not. The snakeboard (aka streetboard) has been around since 1989, and is an extreme sport with many board companies & riders all around the world. The waveboard (aka casterboard, ripstik, vigorboard) is a toy which is only similar in that it uses the same principal of being a self-propelled board. The waveboards were only able to be manufactured after the original Snakeboard patent expired. The snakeboard has 4x wheels and trucks similar to a skateboard. Some have thin centre-bars, others have wide ones. All snakeboards can have footstraps attached and riders can do all sorts of crazy tricks; in vert ramps, skateparks, miniramps, or the street. Ripstiks / waveboards have 2x "caster wheels", no trucks, no centre bar, no straps, and you cannot do half the amount of tricks on them that are possible on the snakeboard.

Go to YouTube and do a search for "How To Ride A Streetboard" and you should find several videos which document it very well.Just be careful of Ripstiks / Casterboards. These are NOT snakeboards (even though there are people advertising them as such) and they work differently.
