Basketball is a more widely played sport but I guess its whoever you talk to Skateboarding is much more popular than basketball because I ask people what is your favorite sport between basketball or skateboarding and they say skateboarding.
yes ripstiking is very fun Yes, I like it better than skateboarding but that is because I suck at skateboarding. If I wanted to be amazing at skateboarding or ripstiking I would choose skateboarding because you can do more but ripstiking is very fun once you learn how to do it better.
Rob Dyrdek no longer competes in skateboarding for he is too old and younger skaters do more progressive tricks than he is capable of.
Vert skateboarding was much more popular in the early through late eighties until street skateboarding began to rise in popularity in the early nineties. Skateboarding is much more popular presently than it was in the legacy years of the seventies and eighties. Both vert and street skating have a healthy following to date.
BMX IS FAR MORE DANGEROUS THAN SKATEBOARDING Most of the time you only have two limbs attached to the bike at one time. (i.e. barspins, tailwhips, superman, etc)So catching yourself is totally out of the question when you are going 20-25mph opposed to scooter speed. Also because you go so much faster you generally get a whole lot more air which in return makes crashing more devastating. Would you rather crash on the concrete going appx. 7mph at most; or crash at 25mph, not just on concrete but toppling over a metal bike with poking edges. Hence why you see so many more people skateboarding rather than riding BMX, and it isn't just because BMX takes a lot more strength.
it varies.. couple of variables.. no need to spend more than $55..
