Odysseus throws a Discus
There is no real title for an athlete that throws the discus or javelin - they are simply referred to as javelin or discus throwers, or more generally as throwers, field event athletes, etc.
The athlete that throws the discus the farthest is considered the winner of the event.
Possibly the discus or javelin throws.
It looks like a frisby. It is solid and heavy. I believe the discus throw is part of the summer Olympics.
in the old days the discus was made out of stone, bronze, lead and iron more barbaric kind off stuff and you might even get an injurie and the throws measurement weren't really that accurate. Now its alot more accurate and easier to throw
No, the runner is not allowed to steal a base before the pitcher throws the ball.
well that depends. anywhere from 80 feet to 95 feet is great any higher than that and yo should have a record id say. ACTUALLY, IT IS TRUE THAT 80-95 IS "GREAT" BUT THE QUESTION WAS ABOUT THE AVERAGE. THE AVERAGE JR HIGH SCHOOL GIRL THROWS THE 1 KG DISCUS (STANDARD SIZE FOR TRACK MEETS) 45-58 FEET. THE AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL GIRL THROWS 55-66 FEET. I HAVE COACHED DISCUS FOR MANY YEARS, AND AN 80 FOOT THROW IS ALMOST ALWAYS TOP 3 OF 25 COMPETITORS. 95 WOULD ALMOST ALWAYS WIN -- AT THE VARSITY LEVEL.
It is not fighting. It is competition.
The discus will fly in the direction the athlete releases it because of Newton's Third Law of Motion, which states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When the athlete rotates and releases the discus, the force generated will propel the discus in the direction it was thrown.
A sophmore male in highschool usually throws from 50-135 feet. Lots of variables come in to play at such a novice level such as coaching, technique, wind, athletes strength, flexibility, athleticiscm, equipment, and facility. World record is 242 ft held by jurgen schult of east germany. Take note: olympic and college discus weighs 2 kilograms (4 lbs 7 ounces) and high school weighs 1.6 kg (3lbs 9 ounces).
