When you completely miss the ball, just hit air.
Whiff is to miss the ball entirely on a stroke. : (
Line back up and try again.
Basically a stroke is where a genuine movement is made towards the golf ball. Once you address the ball and make a swing, this counts as a stroke, even if you miss it.
This issue would send your round into meltdown! It doesn't matter if you miss the ball or not, a genuine attempt was made to stroke the ball. So, you count the air shot (1 shot) and then playing the wrong ball (2 shot penalty). Again, it does not matter you didn't hit it.
A stroke in its' simplest terms is an attempt to hit the golf ball, this includes air shots, if you swing and miss, that is one stroke also.
A putter in golf allows you to hit a ball in close proximity to the hole. If you were to use, say a wedge you would completely overshoot it and miss completely.
It is simply because when a player is playing golf they need to focus and concentrate on their swing. If they are not concentrating on their swing they will not execute their technique and could hit the ball all over the place. Especially when they are putting, any sudden noise could put them off their stroke and could easily force them to miss the putt.
After running 526 straight balls during a straight pool exhibition in 1954, Willie didn't miss the 527th ball. He simply stopped playing.
You have not defined the parameters of your problem. Ping pong balls never hit the ground, they hit the ping pong table. Even if they miss the ping pong table, they hit the floor, rather than the ground. That's because ping pong is played indoors. Of course, you could set up an experiment that involves a ping pong ball and a golf ball, but you have not described such an experiment.
The quotation is "You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take." Imagine you are playing basketball. You are afraid to shoot the ball, because you might miss. True, you might miss. But if you don't take the shot, you will not score anything.
Sure--pack your bags and we'll send you right up...brig a gas mask and suit to protect you from the poisonous atmosphere ad incredible heat, and don't forget that the ever-present clouds of poisonous gas will obscure your vision completely, thus causing you to loose your ball, miss the hole, and shoot WAY over par on every hole...but you LIKE a challenge, right? You can't play golf on Venus because in space there is no gravity. if you went to go play golf on Venus the ball would just be floating around unless you have a very heavy golf ball A gravity-less environment does not exist on Venus so your golf ball will drop to the surface same as on any other planet. In a gravity-free environment, the weight of the ball will not matter at all.
Not a technical but it is a foul and if the person makes the free throw then it's the other teams ball but if they miss it is a live ball
You should swing it like an iron because normally its not used on a tee, if you swing it like a drive on a fareway then you are going to miss the ball.
It depends on how the game is being played. Most of the time, foul balls don't count as a strike; you can hit a ton of foul balls while you're up to bat and it won't matter. If you're playing a strict game of baseball, though, if you go up to bat and hit two foul balls, they count as strikes. Then, if you miss the ball or whatever, that would be your third strike. And you're out. :) Foul balls count as strikes when every the batter does not have two strikes, once a batter gets two strikes foul balls are no longer counted as strikes.
every time you miss one it becomes -1 on your scorecard in golf and minigolf
A strikeout is when you either miss the ball or if you swing during a ball.
An air shot. It counts as one shot.
Miss BG - 2005 Crystal Ball was released on: USA: 18 October 2007
Start the ball on the starting point closest to the bottom of the screen. Try to aim to miss the bottom corner of the diamond shaped box to only just miss the box. Hit full power. The ball will then hit the bottom wall, then roll onto the corner diagonal wall and roll into the hole from there. If the ball goes too wide of the diagonal box corner, it will not hit the diagonal corner of the backwall, which is essential. after a free throw (which is a dead ball situation) if they miss the basket and you catch 'the rebound'
In tennis, a service is when one opponent hits the tennis ball over the net into the opposite box. It's how tennis players start the point. If you miss the first serve, you get to serve again, but if you miss that, the point is over. Your opponent won that point. If the ball hits the net before bouncing over, it is called a let.
