I think you will find it to better if you were to lift every other day because then in between days you would be able to rest and do what you want to do. I know you didn't ask for anymore or any less but I recommend you working out once or twice a week, enabling you to split the body into two groups. If you are new to Weightlifting do shoulders on one day and chest biceps triceps on another. I hope this answer helps.
In some opinions, it is better to work your muscles (like lifting weights) every other day so you can give them time to heal, and thus become stronger. You see, every time you work out, you are tearing your muscles (not in a bad way) and if you do not give them some time to heal, they will not gain as much as they could.
However, you should be doing cardiovascular activity (like jogging, dancing, swimming, riding a bike, etc.) every day. Children need 60 minutes of physical activity everyday, whereas adults need only 30 minutes.
P.S. Keep in mind that one can get out of shape in a minimum of 4 days. So consistent physical activity is VERY IMPORTANT.
