Horse Riding in the Olympics is a couple of things. There's Show jumping indviual and team. I think there is Cross Country Ind. and team and there is Dressage Ind. and team. I hope to be there for the 2016 Olympics!
There's nothing English about it. The riding events in the Olympics are controlled by the International Equestrian Federation or FEI, which operates worldwide.
Sophie howes With her excellent skill she is going to try to compete in the Olympics in the 2012! She has been riding since she was 4 and she is very experienced!

Western horse riding isn't an olympic sport for the same reason that caber tossing isn't. Most Western horse riding occurs in the US and caber toss is a Scottish phenomenon. Both are sports which require strength and skill, but occur mostly regionally. Western riding is in the Olympics-Reining is a part of the Olympics, but it isn't as popular as the English events. It is just as fun though.
